📍 Alkarsko trkalište, Sinj
Equestrian knight tournament in Sinj (Split-Dalmatia County) — an unbroken tradition since 1715, commemorating a local victory over the Turks. Inscribed on UNESCO Intangible Heritage list in 2010. Alkari on horseback gallop with lances, aiming at a metal ring (alka) hanging on a rope — hitting the centre hole = 3 points. The tournament includes a ceremony with 18th-century costumes, orchestra and procession.
📍 Riva Split (start/finish)
Croatian ultramarathon in the Kozjak Mountains and on Marjan above Split. Three distances: 25 km (Marjan Trail), 55 km (Kozjak Marathon), 111 km (Ultra Dalmatia — 5,000 m elevation gain). Start and finish in Split on the Riva. Route passes through the Roman Salona aqueduct, Dalmatian villages and Kozjak summit (779 m). About 1,500 runners from 40 countries. UTMB certificate 4-6 points.
